To Find A Partner
Biggest Challenge: To Find a Partner
Response from DM:
Finding a partner, whether in your personal or business life, means being very clear about what you want, expect, desire, and need. In the wonderful story of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, Alice comes across a Cheshire Cat. Alice is at a crossroads in the story and must make a decision as to which path to follow. When Alice asks the Cheshire Cat which way to go, he replies that she should, first, know where she’s going. Because if she does not know where she is going, then it does not make any difference which direction she takes. And so it is in life.
The clearer the personal characteristics, values, skills and talents we are searching for, the more likely we will find them. Whether we are searching for a personal or business partner, know what you want, as well as what you will not tolerate. Sometimes knowing what you don’t want is as important as knowing what you do want. On a personal level, it is never two halves looking for each other to make a whole union — it is two complete individuals looking to complement each other, or “finding one’s kindred spirit”. Where is the common ground or values that you can both firmly stand on?
In a business partner, you are looking for specific skill sets as well as common values that will complement your own, to move your business further along. Sometimes writing out what you are searching for can clarify what you really want. When you are finished, put the list aside for a few days, and then reevaluate your list later for clarification. My experience is that the universe provides us with what we are ready to receive when clarity of thought and emotion is our motivation. Thank you for sending in this challenge. Many are struggling and seeking clarification within their own lives around this issue of finding a partner.
