Keeping an Elder Parent at Your Home
Do you recommend keeping an elderly parent at your home if you can do it?
Stephanie in Missouri, 53
If you are able to accommodate your elderly parent in your home, it can be a very rewarding experience. But first you need to think long and hard about how this will affect every member of your family (including pets). Who is going to have what responsibilities? What rearrangements will be needed regarding schedules, living space, meal preparation, and even adapting portions of the home. Does the elderly parent want to move? There is a lot to think about, but if you do this work before any move is made, you will come to the right conclusion.
