Refusing To Bathe And Take Meds
What do you do for an older person who refuses to take their meds and even bathe?
Chris in Ohio, 44
It is our responsibility to care for and keep our seniors safe. An older person who refuses to take their medications and bathe will only deteriorate unless this is quickly corrected. Sometimes it’s smart to gently bring to their attention that these matters will negatively affect their health and wellbeing. If a person is neglecting themselves, other interventions might need to happen, and authorities may need to be consulted. The individual may also need to be evaluated by a doctor or therapist so they don’t do permanent damage to themselves.
