Calling on seniors and caregivers with talent. Auditions will be held Monday at Emeritus Bellevue for national "Bring Your Talent" contest, which will award a talented senior or caregiver a year of free rent at any Emeritus community.
Emeritus is a Seattle-based nationwide senior housing company that has senior living facilities in Bellevue, Kirkland and Renton.
The auditions will be at Emeritus Bellevue on May 14 at 1 p.m. Dr. Marion Somers, elder care expert and spokeswoman of Kirkland nonprofit organization 3in4 Association, will give practical tips about preparing for long-term care and will emcee the open call for auditions.
People also can submit entries via videos on Emeritus' Facebook page. The campaign's YouTube video shows snippets of dancers, singers and musicians competing in an earlier audition.
It's one of the stops in Somers' tour of the US in the 3in4 Need More bus – a converted Greyhound.
The national winner will receive one free year of rent at any Emeritus community, with 11 runners-up each receiving one free week. The contest is part of the national 3in4 Need More campaign, an educational initiative to raise awareness about the need for Americans to better prepare for their long-term health care needs.
